June SAT results are out!

Updated: Jul 17

The June SAT Scores came out yesterday.

Some of you are happy

Some of you are not happy

If you are the former, great job! You worked hard to earn that score and should be proud of your accomplishments.

If you are the latter, I want you to share something with you:

People that you see right now with their 700+, 750+ , their dream scores

Whenever looking at them, I used to get so angry at myself.

Am I dumb? I tried so hard, why can't I be like them? They make it look so easy.

But, after years of tutoring, I realized that wasn't the case

People with those high scores today - they had numerous setbacks, stressful moments, and even moments when their scores came out much much lower than expected.

We just don't know about it because people generally do not share their low moments.

The point is, almost nobody gets their target scores in their first few tries

It's normal to experience disappointments and worry that you might not be able to ever hit your target score.

More importantly, colleges don’t care about where you started

They only care about 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝘂𝗽 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵

Essentially, your 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗲.

And, The score you see 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗻𝗼𝘄, It doesn’t have to be your 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗲.

If you are angry, sad, disappointed....

Good - that means you actually tried and the results didn't meet your expectation.

Now, take a day or two to let the emotions rush through you

But don’t let it consume you for too long

Instead, 𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗲𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝘀 𝗳𝘂𝗲𝗹𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗹 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱

To push yourself to work harder, get better, and score higher on the next one.

Do not let the score you see today be your final score.

You might be closer than you'd think.

Take a day off and pick yourself up tomorrow.

It's time to get to work.
